Acupuncture

Acupuncture

Balance Your Energy

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine date back more than 2,000 years.  The treatment consists of placing hair-thin needles along specific points on the body based on diagnosis and specific Meridian Theory. By placing the needles in specific places, we are able to stimulate the body and foster its own organic healing processes.

As the body is being stimulated by the needles, it is also allowing for the release of pain reducing opioids, anti-inflammatory agents as well as serotonin.  These agents also assist in the healing process taking place in our body.

Natural Herbs

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Healing with herbs

Chinese Herbal Medicine is considered by many to be even more powerful than acupuncture itself. Although very effective in treating illness and disease, it can also be used to help keep us feeling our best by nourishing our systems and helping to prevent disease in the first place.

Like acupuncture, herbal medicine has virtually no side effects. The medicine is nature captured at its very best. Herbal practitioners use many of the same ideas regarding Chinese medicine when prescribing herbs. Using the information gathered during the initial patient intake, the practitioner is able to customize a formula to best serve the patient's need(s).

Cupping.jpg

Cupping

Everyone's doing it!

Cupping is a modality used in TCM (Chinese Medicine). The basic principle behind this technique is to place glass cups on the skin to create suction. Cupping can be used for many reasons including: general well-being, pain, blood flow, inflammation as well as relaxation.

During cupping, cups are heated and then placed on your skin creating a suction. They can be left in a stationary location, or they can be used in conjunction with a medium to slide the cups smoothly along the skin. Both techniques give a massage-type effect.

Food Therapy

Fueling your soul

What we put into our bodies can have a huge impact on how we feel on a daily basis. In TCM (Chinese Medicine) great care is taken when deciding the types of food to eat. Factors that guide practitioners into helping their patients make the best food choices include: Season, patient constitution as well as what the patient is being treated for.

Your practitioner can start with giving simple additions to your diet. We would rather add food than take it away! Over time, the patient will introduce different food concepts into their lives until the best combination has been found to best service the patients needs and health outcomes.

Needle Free Treatments

Pediatrics and for
those weary of needles

For those who are uncertain of needles as well at the pediatric community, needle-free treatments are often the best option. Within Chinese Medicine, I utilize multiple skill sets including: Acupressure, Tuning Fork as well as laser guided acupuncture treatments.  These treatments can be just as effective as traditional acupuncture treatment and without the use of needles.
